Who We Are

Coalition of Vegan Activists of Color (COVAC) partners with individuals, academic institutions, non-profit and other community organizations to mobilize vegan and animal rights activists of color and provide information and motivation by conducting workshops, conferences, social networking events, volunteer events, and producing and exchanging outreach materials and methods.  COVAC encourages activism and community building by organizing events for vegans of color to volunteer in our communities.

COVAC recognizes the importance of building relationships by making connections with other social justice movements including the food justice, environmental justice and anti-racism movements. COVAC seeks to increase awareness about veganism and animal rights, to encourage people of color to make more compassionate and empowering food choices.  COVAC does not promote shamming and blaming tactics.

COVAC partners with a variety of organizations that work toward building a better world for humans, non-human beings, and our planet.
